Welcome to SWIG

Mission Statement

SWIG is a service user group who have had experience of working, directly or indirectly, with social workers. SWIG works closely with the University of Portsmouth in order to influence and positively contribute towards the education of student social workers. We are committed to inclusive ways of working that are based on principles of fairness, mutual co-operation and respect for diversity. Our aims are to work with students in ways that enable them to understand our experiences and hear our narratives. We believe that our contribution to students' learning will help produce practitioners who have insight and who are committed to best practice.
